R & D experience in the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai, India, in the fields of (a) calculation of radiation shielding (b) calculation of radiation dose while working with radiation under normal and accident conditions and (b) safety of transport of radioactive material.

Served as Head, Radiological Safety Division, Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, Mumbai.

Represented India in many Technical Meetings at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Vienna, Austria.

I was the Chief Scientific Investigator from India for two of the IAEA Coordinated Research Projects on the Safe Transport of Radioactive Material.

I worked as a Transport Safety Specialist and then as Consultant in IAEA, Vienna. In the year 2005 when IAEA was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their programme on nuclear safety. I was among the few who received a citation in connection with the programme.

I have served in the faculty of many lecture courses and workshops conducted by BARC and by IAEA in India and abroad on topics related to radiation safety including radiation protection standards, industrial radiography, nucleonic gauging, radiation protection in gamma and electron beam irradiator facilities, emergency preparedness and response and transport of radioactive material.

I was tasked by IAEA to conduct training workshops (for participants from the Middle East and East and South East Asia) in China, Indonesia, Jordan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Qatar, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Vienna. I have carried out expert missions for IAEA in Jordan and Zimbabwe.

I have taken part in IAEA projects to develop course contents for postgraduate degree programmes in nuclear safety and nuclear security to be adopted by the Member States of IAEA.  

I have over 65 scientific and technical publications in national / international scientific journals and conference proceedings including books.

My association with radiation safety commenced in 1966. My strength is that I communicate radiation safety in a manner that is easy to understand for everyone so that the learner remembers the details and works with radiation safely and can pass any qualifying examination.

I continue to provide Consultancy Service to AERB and IAEA on matters relating to radiation safety.
